The Canaan Historical Society is happy to announce that as of the new year the bulk of the structural stabilization construction work has been completed. In addition to sill and foundation work, a change order for a hefty amount was required when rot in three of the four corner posts was discovered. These had to be replaced with new laminated pressure treated wood to keep the building secure for another 200 years. Next up is the restoration of the clear triple hung windows and the Palladian window over the front door. To help fund this work donations are gratefully accepted through the website https://www.CanaanHistoricalSociety.org.
