Location: Canaan Transfer Station, 27 Flints Crossing Road, Canaan, NY

Hours: Wednesdays 3:30PM–5:30PM, Saturdays 8:00AM – Noon

Requirements: You must be a town resident and have a sticker on your vehicle to use the transfer station. 

Transfer Station stickers are available at the Town Clerk’s office for $25 per calendar

year, or $20 with the purchase of a county recycling sticker. See the Transfer Station Guide 2026 for more information.

Recycling

Location: Chatham Convenience Station, 452 Route 295, Chatham, NY

Hours: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, 7:30AM–3:45PM

Columbia County recycling stickers are available at the Town Clerk’s office for $75 per

calendar year for residents under the age of 65, and $50 for those age 65 and older.
